about
Why ??? by God, Nancy Shock and t😊m staudle which came from a poem Nancy wrote which i happened to see in a frame on the wall of the Green Room before Cosby and I were about to go on at the Dorn Space in Gloversville, NY. I thought i had the whole song ready in the 10 minutes we had before going on and tried it at the near end of our show but forgot some of my arrangement after playing other songs for an hour and a half... Cover Photo (before words and ?'s), from VectorStock.. helps with the title of the song which is Why?? and means Why treat the world and everything on it (including people), like garbage and not be responsible or just not care because we may not be around when the world gets real ugly...
lyrics
I have always been a dreamer,
not of riches or of gold,
I dream of the simpler things
and the many wonders to behold.
I wonder why the bluebird
and the cardinal get along,
they are of different color
and sing a different song.
I dream of children never hungry
or who will not know of pain,
a world whose land’s not covered
in a blood red stain.
I wonder why the bluebird
and the cardinal get along,
they are of different color
and sing a different song.
I wonder why so many
make life on earth so bad
when all the really good things
are here - to be had.
I pray that someday
a new dawn will give birth
and I bless this small blue planet
a place that we call earth!
I dream of children never hungry
or who will not know of pain,
a world whose land’s not covered
in a blood red stain.
I wonder why the bluebird
and the cardinal get along,
they are of different color
and sing a different song.
I wonder why so many
make life on earth so bad
when all the really good things
are here - to be had.
I pray that someday
a new dawn will give birth
and I bless this small blue planet
a place that we call earth!
I wonder why so many
make life on earth so bad
when all the really good things
are here - to be had.
I pray that someday
a new dawn will give birth
and I bless this small blue planet
a place that we call earth!
